Mid-Century French Canard-Duchêne Aluminum Champagne Bucket
$575
About
Crafted in France circa 1970, this vintage champagne ice bucket was made for the celebrated Champagne house G.H. Mumm of Reims. The cylindrical polished metal body is decorated with fine incised horizontal bands and fitted with substantial side mounts terminating in movable ring handles.
The front retains its original enamel-style G.H. Mumm & Co. Cordon Rouge label, prominently displaying the house’s iconic red sash motif. The clean cylindrical form, polished surface, and restrained detailing give the bucket a classic mid-century look while preserving its unmistakably French barware character.
Designed to chill a bottle of Champagne or wine, the bucket is equally attractive displayed on a bar, drinks table, or buffet. The heavy ring handles provide both visual interest and practical carrying points, while the substantial base gives the piece a nicely balanced feel.
The vintage Champagne bucket is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, with light surface scratches and minor wear to the polished finish.
