Mid-Century Louis XVI French Marble Top Walnut Marquetry Three Drawer Chest
Crafted in France circa 1950 and built of walnut, the oval table sits on four tapered legs decorated with brass mounts at the shoulders, ending with bronze caps over feet. The chest features detailed marquetry work around the apron, and is further dressed with three drawers decorated with geometric motifs. The luxurious variegated beige marble top is set inside an intricate pierced gallery rim around the edges. The delicate oval end table is outfitted with a bottom kidney shape shelf decorated with inlay motif and dressed with a bronze band around the edges. The petite commode is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich walnut patina throughout. Use this elegant, antique fruitwood table as an occasional side table in a formal living room, or place it as a beside table next to a bed. Measures: 18.75″ W x 13″ D x 30″ H.
