Decorate a living room, bedroom, or seating area with this elegant pair of antique Louis XV style side tables. Crafted in France circa 1960, each gueridon table is made of richly grained mahogany veneer and topped with a shaped inset breche violette marble surface, framed with a molded brass gallery following the serpentine outline of the top. The marble features warm beige, cream, and brown tones with dramatic natural veining.
The occasional tables are embellished throughout with bronze doré ormolu mounts, including floral garlands, ribbon motifs, pierced cartouches, acanthus leaf drops, decorative knee mounts, and bronze sabots at the feet. Each table stands on four graceful cabriole legs, giving the pair a refined French Louis XV silhouette. The warm mahogany finish contrasts beautifully with the gilt bronze decoration and richly veined breche violette marble tops.
Perfect as sofa end tables, bedside tables, or decorative lamp tables, the pair is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, with wonderful gilt bronze mounts and minor wear consistent with age.
