This antique sculpture was crafted in France, circa 1780. Set in a giltwood frame and carved of oakwood, the panel depicts our Lord Jesus Christ standing inside an arched door with the right raised in blessing, in reference to “the hand of benediction” (index and middle finger are extended, and the ring and pinky fingers are bent down into the palm). He is holding a sphere or globe in His left hand representing the world, with a cross above it. The religious wall panel is in excellent condition with a rich dark oak patina. Measures: 18.75″ W x 28.5″ H.
