Display your Bible on this antique adjustable polychrome and gilt free standing book holder. Crafted in Italy circa 1860 and rectangular in shape, the small lectern sits on four square feet legs over a scalloped front apron. The bookrest is decorated with carved floral rosette medallions in each corner, and the facade is embellished with a hand carved double acanthus leaf motif. The Baroque style bookstand is in excellent condition commensurate with age and use, and adorns a rich two-tone polychrome and gold leaf patinated finish throughout. Versatile, the stand could be used in a kitchen to hold a cooking book, or in a study or den for music sheet. Measures: 16″ W x 12.5″ D x 8″ H (Folded) 16″W x 12.5″D x 16″H (Opened)
