Pair of Early 20th Century English Oak and Brass Barley Twist Candlesticks
$575
About
Decorate a mantel, dining table, buffet, or library shelf with this elegant pair of antique English candlesticks. Crafted in England in the early 20th Century, each candleholder is made of richly patinated oak and features a hand-turned barley twist stem rising from a circular drip tray base. The dark oak finish shows wonderful depth, visible grain, and warm aged character.
The upper sections are embellished with decorative brass candle cups and scalloped bobeches with foliate detailing, adding a refined contrast to the dark wood. The circular bases are slightly dished to catch wax and give the pair a practical as well as decorative quality. The undersides retain old felt protection with visible age and wear.
Perfect for taper candles, the pair would bring classic English charm to a dining room table, console, mantel, bookcase, or bedside table. The candlesticks are in excellent antique condition commensurate with age and use. Candles not included.
